As part of the Family History Writing Challenge I wrote a post relating to the grave of my Great Grandparents, which was mentioned in my Graveyard Rabbit post last month. It occurred to me that the photos below illustrated quite nicely what I meant about graves being neglected and forgotten.
Here are two photos of the grave, the first in 1937 and the second in 2007.

Stoke New Cemetery,Stoughton Road, Guildford, Surrey
Stoke Cemetery is situated to the West of Guildford and was opened in 1883. All new graves are situated in this cemetery. Separate areas are available: Church of England, Roman Catholic, Non-Conformist, Jewish, children and babies. A service chapel is available for all denominations.

The Mount Cemetery, The Mount, Guildford, Surrey
Mount Cemetery is situated to the south of Guildford on a hill overlooking the town centre. The cemetery is now full and is no longer accepts requests for burials unless the grave has been reserved or there is an existing family grave.
